Introduction

This page provides work instructions for on-site integration between the Temtop PMD 331 Particle Counter and Element-D.


Materials

Your package contains the following items:

  • Element-D w/ Power Supply
  • USB 2.0 to RS232 Male DB9 Serial Cable 3ft


Additional Materials Required

  • PS/2 to Female RS232 cable (supplied with the PMD 331 unit)


Setup Instructions

1. Plug in the Element-D and complete the Wifi Connect instructions.

2. Locate the PS/2 to RS-232 cable that is included with the Temtop PMD 331 particle sensor. Connect the male end of the RS232 Male DB9 Serial Cable to the Female RS232 end of the PS/2 to RS232 cable.  Secure the connection. 

3. Locate the PS/2 port on the Temtop PMD 331 particle counter.  

4. Plug the PS/2 end of the cable into he the PS/2 port. 

5. Plug the USB end of the cable into any slot of the Element-D.

6. Press the Menu button on the Temtop PMD 331. Using the UP and DOWNkeys, navigate to the System Setting menu item.


7. Click OK. 

8. Navigate to the COM setting.

9. Click OK.

10. Set the Baud rate to 9600.  Save the setting.


11. Start the Temtop PMD 331 particle counter to start collecting data.

12. Check your Elemental Machines dashboard account to confirm that particle count values are displayed.

13. Set up any desired alerts on the dashboard.
