Introduction

This page provides work instructions on how to setup the Element-C to connect to the NuAire NU-5700, NU-5710, NU-5800, NU-5810, NU-8600 incubator models.


Materials

Your package contains the following items:

  • Element-C w/Power Supply
  • Connection cable 


NOTE: Both of these components are unique to the NuAire NU-5700, NU-5710, NU-5800, NU-5810, NU-8600 incubator models.


Equipment Needed for Setup

  • Small flathead screwdriver


Setup Instructions

  1. Carefully remove the contents from its packaging.  If any of the contents looks damaged, please send a picture of the contents to help@elementalmachines.com. 
  2. Power on the Element-C and complete the Wifi Connect instructions.
  3. Power off the Element C.  
  4. Power off the NuAire incubator. 
  5. Connect the open wires from the Element-C cable to the green terminal block on the Element-C:
    1. Slightly loosen the screws for Slots 1-4 on the Element-C terminal block.
    2. Insert the BROWN Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 1. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    3. Insert the BROWN-WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 2. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    4. Insert the GREEN Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 3. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    5. Insert the GREEN-WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 4. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.

6. Power on the Element-C.

7. Power on the NuAire Incubator. 

8. Connect the RJ-45 cable from the Element-C to the NuAire incubator 4-20mA data port. This can be found on the back of the incubator on the top left corner, as shown in Figure 2 below.

9. Confirm that the incubator conditions appear on the Elemental Machines dashboard.  Set up any desired alerts on the dashboard.
