Introduction

This page provides work instructions on how to setup the Element-C to with the new Multitron (white one).  

Materials

Your package contains the following items:

• Element-C w/Power Supply
• Connection cable  NOTE: This is unique to the Multitron Incubator Shaker

Equipment Needed for Setup

• Small flathead screwdriver

Setup Instructions

1. Carefully remove the contents from its packaging.  If any of the contents looks damaged, please send a picture of the contents to help@elementalmachines.com. 
2. Plug in the Element-C and complete the Wifi Connect instructions (see attachment).
3. Power off the Element-C.
4. Wire the Connection cable to Element-C. 
   1. Slightly loosen the screws in Slots 1 through 8 on the green terminal block on the Element-C.                                    Figure 1: Connection cable wiring into Element-C Terminal Block
   2. Insert the RED Wire from the Connection Cable into SLOT 1 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   3. Insert the WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 2 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   4. Insert the ORANGE Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 3 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   5. Insert the BLUE Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 4 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   6. Insert the GREEN Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 5 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   7. Insert the YELLOW Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 6 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   8. Insert the BLACK Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 7 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
   9. Insert the BROWN Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 8 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
5. Power off the incubator shaker.
6. Locate the analog module on the back of the Multitron as shown Figure 2.                                                            Figure 2:  Analog Module on White Multitron
7. Loosen the four hexalobular screws (M4x6) on the lid of the module. Guide the connection cable through the cable gland.
   1. Loosen the screws for the following slots on the analog module:
      
      Left side (Figure 3)
      Slot 2/Channel 1+/Iout0
      Slot 3/Channel 1-/AGND0
      Slot 8/Channel 3+/Iout2
      Slot 9/Channel 3-/AGND2
      Slot 12/Channel 5-/AGND3/4
      Slot 14/Channel 5+/Iout4
      
      Right side (Figure 3)
      Slot 5/Channel 7+/Iout6

8. Wire the Analog Module as follows:
   1. Insert the RED Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 2/Channel 1+/Iout0. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   2. Insert the WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 3/Channel 1-/AGND0. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   3. Insert the GREEN Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 8/Channel 3+/Iout2. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   4. Insert the YELLOW Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 9/Channel 3-/AGND2. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   5. Insert the BROWN Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 12/Channel 5-/AGND3/4. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   6. Insert the BLACK Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 14/Channel 5+/Iout4. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   7. Insert the ORANGE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 5/Channel 7+/Iout6. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
   8. Insert the BLUE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 6/Channel 7-/AND6/7. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
9. Replace the lid on the Analog module.
10. Power on the incubator shaker
11. Check the Elemental Machines dashboard to ensure that the incubator data appears online. Set up any desired alerts on the platform.
