Introduction

This page provides work instructions on how to setup the Element-C to connect to the following Shel Lab Large Capacity CO2 Incubators: 

  • SC040
  • SC058
  • SC031

Materials

Your package contains the following items:

  • Element-C w/Power Supply
  • Connection cables x 2

NOTE: Both of these components are unique to the Shel Lab SC040, SC058, and SC031 

Equipment Needed for Setup

  • Small flathead screwdriver

Setup Instructions

  1. Carefully remove the contents from its packaging. If any of the contents looks damaged, please send a picture of the contents to help@elementalmachines.com. 
  2. Plug in the Element-C and complete the Wifi Connect instructions (see attached).
  3. Unplug the Element-C.
  4. Wire up the Element-C:
    1. Slightly loosen the screws for Slots 1-4 on the green terminal block on the Element-C.
    2. Insert the WHITE wire from a cable into Slot 1.
    3. Insert the BLACK wire from the same cable into Slot 2
    4. Insert the WHITE wire from the second cable into Slot 3.
    5. Insert the BLACK wire from the second cable into Slot 4.
  5. Locate the data output panel on the Shel Lab incubator. Power off the incubator.
  6. Insert the stereo plug that connects to Element-C terminal block Slots 1 and 2 into the Temp jack on the top right of the data output panel for the Temp channel.
  7. Insert the stereo plug that connects to Element-C terminal block Slot 3 and 4 into the CO2 jack on the top left of the data output panel for the CO2 channel.
  8. Power on the incubator.  Power on the Element-C. 
  9. Check the Elemental Machines dashboard to ensure that the incubator data appears online. Set up any desired alerts on the platform.
