Introduction

This page provides work instructions on how to setup the Element-C to connect to the Thermo Forma 3911, 3912, 3940 and 3949 Environmental Chamber.  

Materials

Your package contains the following items:

  • Element-C with Power Supply
  • Connection cable

NOTE: Both of these components are unique to the Thermo Forma 3911, 3913, 3940, and 3949 models.

Equipment Needed for Setup

  • Small flathead screwdriver
  • Additional screwdriver needed for Thermo Forma Environmental Chamber

Setup Instructions

  1. Carefully remove the contents from its packaging.  If any of the contents looks damaged, please send a picture of the contents to help@elementalmachines.com. 
  2. Plug in the Element-C and complete the Wifi Connect instructions (see attachment).
  3. Unplug the Element-C.
  4. Power off the Thermo Forma Environmental Chamber.
  5. Wire the Connection Cable to the terminal strip on the back of the environmental chamber.
  6. Slightly loosen the screws for Slots 1-4 and 8-9 on the terminal block of the Thermo Forma Environmental Chamber:Figure 1: Connection Cable is wired into Slots 1-4 and 8-9 [TEMP, Humidity, CO2, (+) and (-) Channels] of the Thermo Environmental Chamber
    1. Insert the RED Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 1/Temp (+). Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    2. Insert the WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 2/Temp (-) slot. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    3. Insert the BLUE Wire from Connection Cable into Slot 3/RH (+) slot from top to bottom. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    4. Insert the GREEN Wire from Connection Cable around the Slot 4/RH (-) slot from top to bottom. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    5. Insert the BLACK Wire from Connection Cable into the Slot 8/CO2 (+) slot from top to bottom. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
    6. Insert the BROWN Wire from Connection Cable around the Slot 9/CO2 (-) slot from top to bottom. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure.
  7. Make sure the Connection Cable is wired to the Element-C as shown:
    1. Slightly loosen the screws in Slots 1 through 6 on the green terminal block on the Element-C.                                    Figure 2: Connection cable wiring into Element-C Terminal Block
    2. Insert the RED Wire from the Connection Cable into SLOT 1 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
    3. Insert the WHITE Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 2 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
    4. Insert the BLUE Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 3 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
    5. Insert the GREEN Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 4 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
    6. Insert the BLACK Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 5 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
    7. Insert the BROWN Wire from Connection Cable into SLOT 6 of the green terminal block on the Element-C. Tighten the screw to ensure that the wire is secure in the slot.
  8. Power on the Thermo Forma Environmental Chamber.
  9. Plug in the Element-C and make sure chamber data appears on the dashboard.
