Introduction
This page provides work instructions on how to setup the Veris Differential Pressure Sensor (Model PX3ULX05) powered by the Element-C.
Materials
- Element-C
- Veris Differential Pressure Sensor (PX3ULX05)
- 2-wire Connection Cable
Equipment
- Small flathead screwdriver
Procedure
- Carefully remove the contents from its packaging. If any of the contents looks damaged, please send a picture of the contents to help@elementalmachines.com. NOTE: The Veris differential pressure sensor may be pre-wired to the Element-C for your convenience.
- Plug in the Element-C and complete the Wifi Connect instructions (see attachment). If pre-wired to the Element-C, the Veris Differential Pressure sensor will also power on.
- Power off the Element-C.
- Confirm the wiring into the Veris Differential Pressure Sensor:
- Open up the Veris Differential Pressure sensor by unhooking the clasp on the right hand side.
- Confirm the BLACK wire is inserted in the LEFT most slot of the green terminal block.
- Confirm the RED wire is inserted into the MIDDLE slot of the green terminal block.
- If the RED and BLACK wires are not configured as noted in Steps 3a and 3b, wire them up in accordance to these instructions.Figure 1: Terminal block of Veris differential pressure sensor for wiring connection cable is circled
- Check the DIP switch settings. Default configuration settings are:
Switch State 1 OFF (In WC/FPM) 2 OFF (Pressure) 3 OFF (Bi) 4 ON (Slow) NOTE: Element-C samples data every 15 seconds, so changing differential pressure setting to FAST will not change Element-C output. 5 ON (mA) DO NOT CHANGE 6 OFF (not used) 7 ON (Disabled) 8 Unused - Ensure the dial setting is configured to the desired range per the table below. If the dial setting is incorrect, please inform EM immediately at help@elementalmachines.com to ensure that the device report correct readings on the dashboard. Note: Changing the settings in Steps 5 and 6 without informing Elemental Machines may adversely affect streaming of data to the Elemental Machines Dashboard. Figure 2: Rotary Switch Settings
- Confirm the wiring to Element-C.
- Confirm the RED wire is inserted into Slot 1 of the terminal block.
- Confirm the BLACK wire is inserted into Slot 9 of the terminal block.
- If the RED and BLACK wires are not configured as noted in Steps 6a and 6b, wire them up in accordance to these instructions. Figure 3: Wiring to Element-C
- Plug the Element-C is into wall power. The Element-C will also power the Veris differential pressure sensor. Check to make sure the differential pressure sensor is powered on by checking for a reading in the display. (It will not be correct.)
- Hold down the reset button (being pointed to by the screwdriver in Figure 4) until the pressure display blinks 3 times, then release it. It should now read roughly 0.000 (there will still be slight fluctuations). Figure 4: Press down reset button to zero the device
- Allow the Veris differential pressure to remain powered on without any tubes connected for at least 48 hours. Hold down the reset button again. Connect tubing for installation.
